Reaching Wae Rebo is a pilgrimage. A three-hour trek through dense tropical forests — crossing bamboo bridges and crystal mountain streams — slowly unveils the majestic valley below.

At the heart of the village stand seven Mbaru Niang: tall, cone-shaped communal houses built entirely from wood, bamboo, and thatched palm. They represent a harmonious connection between the Manggarai people, their ancestors, and nature.
