Perched high above the surrounding valleys, Wae Rebo is famously called the “village above the clouds,” one of the highest settlements in Indonesia. Its indigenous people are believed to be descendants of the Minangkabau tribe from West Sumatra.

Itinerary

Each day is thoughtfully crafted to balance adventure, culture, and unhurried moments at sea — giving you a complete experience of Indonesia's most breathtaking destinations.

Day 1:

  • The road trip starts at 08:00 AM local time.
  • Travel by car from Labuan Bajo to Denge Village takes about 4−5 hours.
  • Lunch are provided during the road trip, followed by preparations for trekking to Waerebo Cultural Village.
  • The trek will take approximately 2−3 hours (depending on body condition and endurance) from Denge (valley) to the peak (Waerebo Village). It is strongly recommended that participants are in good physical condition.
  • Upon arrival at the village, participants will be treated to a welcoming ceremony at the head's house, followed by observing and experiencing the daily life of the local community.
  • Dinner and overnight stay at Mbaru Niang (traditional Waerebo cone-shaped house with unique architecture).
